Fashion is a powerful form of self-expression, especially as tiny humans often have limited control over their choices. This fun & silly activity will help children explore how they feel when wearing certain things and how they can use clothing to show who they are. Staying true to this outward expression of their authentic selves will lead to increased social & emotional well-being, helping your little one step into the world with confidence and fearlessness.

One or more fashion models (Hint: Look in the mirror!)
A camera or phone (you’re going to want documentation)
Set
Gather an armful of clothing & accessories from around the house. Anything goes! Grab neckties, winter boots, bathing suits, or even something from your favorite costume!
In addition to your go-to wardrobe items, think outside the box and find some “non-clothing” items to turn into wearables.
- Wear a shoebox as a hat
- Transform the dog’s collar into a fashionable charm bracelet.
- Make a necklace using segments of a paper towel tube.
Play!
Lay out your fashion items so you can easily style each of your looks.
Put on each outfit and strut your stuff on the catwalk!
