enjoy with the L•M•N•O•Play! List

Let this Food-tastic L•M•N•O•Play!List motivate you as you bring the book to life through each of the silly sports below.

SET THE STAGE FOR PLAY: 5 Minutes

Adult Participation: Optional

Gourmet Golf

Pre-pear for par none fun

Grab some golf balls (round foods) and a putter (spatula).

Tee off using your spatula to “putt” the food across the room.

Create a miniature golf course using furniture and stuffed animals as obstacles. Move through your new course without touching or knocking over any of the props.

SOLE CYCLE

Clip in for a Tour de Fruits

Place clementines in a salad spinner and make them spin round and round.

Other fun food items to spin include: hard-boiled eggs, frozen peas, dried beans, or, a potato.

Add water to your salad spinner to create a little resistance.

FRUIT BOWL

You say “pallino,” I say “pallina”

Gather a few round fruits and a small ball.

Roll your ball so that it lands a short distance away.

Roll your fruits and see how close you can get them to the ball!

Play a round with peas, using a straw to blow them as close as possible to the ball!

Get down low and make your food roll with just your nose!

FOODLIFTING

Build Some Muscles Little Brussels

Place an assortment of food items next to an empty bucket, basket, or shower caddy. Add your items in, one at a time, until you can no longer lift your basket. Now that your container is full, see if you can “deliver” your food across the room.

Set a box or bag of groceries on the floor next to a counter. Reach in and unpack the groceries, one at a time, lifting each item overhead as you place it on the counter. Don’t forget to bend at the knees!

Looking forward to gifting these again!
"I have always gifted books at birthdays and these felt like a natural extension of the gifts I already give. It's nice to also be able to give my friends something that comes with additional activities they may not have thought to do."
