Questions to spark conversations and connections
- Be sure to read and discuss the wonderful dedication at the beginning: “To children everywhere sitting in cardboard boxes.”
- After the first page or two, start making predictions:
- “What do you think the rabbit is imagining?”
- “What will the box be next?”
- At the end of the book, ask:
- “Why did the rabbit keep saying, ‘this is not a box’”?
- “If you had a box, what would you turn it into?”
- Go beyond the box and bring this book to life:
- Grab any recycled boxes/materials you have on hand and let your imaginations run wild!
